Ka Pow

Rocking the trend of cartoon and pop art prints mama and babba style. How brilliant are these I have spied.
I'd love to rock these T's with Rex, any excuse to be a big kid with my little dude.
Have to save my pennies for the Ka one as its by the amazing Phillip Lim. Rex's on the other hand is a bargain from kids online store Yellow Mellon

Nutty Nesting Dolls

Check out these fantastic nesting dolls designed by Ingela Arrhenius, made by Studio Matryoshka. I have been on the hunt for some animal ones by Ingela for Rex's birthday next month.
When I clocked these I just couldn't resist them for myself. Especially as the doll with glasses is the spitting image of my other half.
All of her prints are amazing, they are so bright and fun, with retro elements and that lovely dose of scandi style.

We saw the torch

Follow Me on Pinterest

Ive been in the past a bit bah humbug about the Olympics, but that's the wonderful thing about England. We all change our mind at the last minute and join in the party, with full-on over excitement. I really have been caught up in the magic and joy of it all, and thanks to Karen my wonderful next door neighbour who was so excited by the whole thing it was infectious. It really is a once in a life time experience and the only time we might ever get a chance to see an Olympic torch. I felt all emotional seeing all the cheering and the people genuinely proud to be hosting the games and so excited to see the torch. It truly was a wonderful moment and to be there with my son and my wonderful friend Tara and my fab inspiring neighbour Karen and Edie Grace.

Here is my little torch bearer. We have seen the torch twice this week and inspired by the start of the Olympics today, we made our own torch. Rex enjoyed running back and forth like he had seen this week, so cute. Will post the pics of the torch in my next post. Its all very exciting, Go team GB !

All you need to make your own Olympic Torch.

Rainbow Sandpit

Follow Me on Pinterest

If you get a chance you must go down to the South Bank in London and check out the Rainbow Sandpit. It's amazing ! Kids and adults who then become big kids when they see it will have so much fun. We had a great time playing in the sand on our way back from the Tate Modern, where we went to see the Damien Hirst Exhibition. This was also amazing and I was really chuffed that Rex seemed to love looking at all the art work too. I was worried about taking him in at first. Would he be interested at all ? But I needn't have worried or doubted that he would like it. He loved it ! It was a very special experience looking at artwork through his eyes. Talking about colours and shapes, movement and objects. He was soaking it all up like a sponge. Pointing and showing a true love of what he was seeing.
It made me feel like I don't give Rex enough credit with what he sees and hears. He really does see and hear everything with great pure excitement.
A very colourful and inspiring day out for both of us. x

Brrrrumm Brrrrumm Beep Beep

Follow Me on Pinterest

We have been in more than out at the moment with this rubbish wet summer. So I have been thinking hard at ways to keep master Rex occupied and entertained.
He has suddenly got into cars and is always "Brrrrumm Brrrrumm Beep Beeping " on all fours round the house. I have been eyeing up a road map rug for his cars for a while. But thought as we have hard floors, I could just make a road out of sticking down some coloured insulation tape. You could also use washi tape too, but insulation tape is the cheaper option. This way your roads can be changed often and go round and under furniture, which Rex loves as another past time of his is to shimmy under and climb over everything. Another great thing is you can add to your roads with buildings and bridges built out of blocks, lego and old boxes etc.
A ongoing project with an entertainment value, fingers crossed, for more than 5 mins.

The Big Boy

Follow Me on Pinterest

Hello Strangers,
I'm so sorry for the lack of posts of recent. I have been desperately doing the juggling act of motherhood and working. With all this multitasking I'm not succeeding very well in keeping all those balls up in the air. More just keep being chucked into the mix and I keep dropping some. Plus we have moved Rex into a big boy bed maybe a bit to soon. All went well to start with I think he thought he was still in a cot and now he has discovered he can get out whenever he wants ! The worst being at 4:30 am in the morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed and raring to go !
So I feel like a new mum with a newborn again, fingers crossed we will get there in the end. Otherwise I will be a zombie forever with a very short fuse.
So please bear with me as I have lots of pics and stories to share with you all and some very exciting projects.
